2.3.4 Alarm server
2.3.4.1 Mail server
The mail server settings can be found under this path:
System > Alarm server > Mail server
The administrator can send an e-mail via Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) when motion
is detected. SMTP is a protocol for sending e-mail messages between servers. SMTP is a
relatively simple, text-based protocol where one or more recipients of a message are
specified and the message text is transferred.
2 sets of SMTP can be configured. Each set includes SMTP server, account name, password
and e-mail address settings.
Please contact your network service provider for more specific information
on the SMTP
server.
Mail server port is set to 25 (default).
Click on <Save>.
Send test e-mail:
The software checks your settings, sends a test e-mail to the defined e-mail address and
then provides a short report in case of a failure. If one of the settings is identified to be
wrong, this will be displayed in the analysis and hence the search for the error is made
easier.
A test e-mail can only be sent if you have saved your settings.
