12.03 Specialised Custom Map Service
If Satmap does not have the map data, we
can put your own digital map data onto an SD
card. Our GIS specialists can convert almost
any map into a format that can be viewed on
our GPS unit.
12.04 Toggleable Map Service
Toggling is a new feature available only
on version 1.4 of our platform software
(downloadable for free from our software
page). Toggling allows the user to ick
between two map scales of the same area
– rather than zooming in all the way into
the 1:25,000 scale or all the way out to the
1:50,000 scale. You can jump between one
scale and another at the push of a button! In
order to toggle a map (ick between the two
scales), you rst need an SD card containing
two different map scales (ie. 1:25,000 &
1:50,000) with the required area overlapping.
Toggleable Maps are being added www.
satmap.com (see our current Challenge
Series). However, it is possible to customise
your own map and make your existing maps
toggleable too.
12.05 Custom Mapping (GB only)
Custom Mapping allows you to create your
own unique maps of the highly detailed
Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale Explorer
series. The result is that you get a map of
exactly the area or areas you want, making
it a very effective way of capturing your
favourite outdoor areas on one map card.
12.06 Site-Centred Mapping (GB only)
For customers who want non-standard map
areas, Satmap offers a bespoke service
to create and supply map cards centred
on a postcode, town, village, place or grid
reference of your choice. The maps are the
Ordnance Survey 1:25k Explorer range, and
are available for the whole of Great Britain.
Price is determined by the area covered.
There is a key difference between the
Site-Centred Map service and the Custom
Mapping:
• Custom Mapping allows you to create
irregular shaped maps.
• Site-Centred Maps are only supplied as a
square or rectangle.
12.07 Map Consolidation
Many of our customers are nding that the
Active 10 is so useful they are taking it
everywhere with them. As a result, they are
building up impressive collections of SD
Cards. So that you don’t have to worry about
keeping track of all these, we can add several
of these maps together onto one consolidated
SD Card. Depending on the size of the maps
in question, this service might not always be
appropriate, so please call us to check what
is possible.

12.01 General Service
Whilst our unit is designed to withstand
the rigours of outdoor sports, some of
our customers have found that it is not
indestructible! For those of you who now
have units that are looking a little bit worse for
wear, Satmap offers a General Service. For
£25.00, you will get:
• Replacement front casework
• Replacement back casework (if needed)
• Replacement inner screen cover
• Replacement battery caddy (if needed)
• Replacement screen cover
• Software upgrade (if needed)
• Antenna check
• Full performance testing
Please allow 6–8 working days for Satmap to
complete this service.
12.02 World Base Map
The World Map is derived from data supplied
by Collins Bartholomew. At 1:30 million you
get an overview of the world and once you
have zoomed down to 1:5 million you will
see the major roads, towns and cities in
every country. Such details provide a useful
backdrop when you are using the Active 10
internationally.
