Crankshaft
Removing the crankshaft
1 Remove the crankshaft gear according to
the section Removing the crankshaft gear.
2 Remove the fan coupling as described in the
section Removing the fan coupling.
3 Remove the oil sump, oil suction pipe with
strainer and the oil pump.
4 Remove the pistons and connecting rods
according to the section Removing the
connecting rod and piston.
5 Remove the main bearing caps and main
bearings.
Note: The main bearings and main bearing caps
are marked and must be refitted in the same
place.
6 Lift out the crankshaft.
