Basic Connection
Caution:
• Be sure to turn off the Unit and equipment to be connected before connecting.
• Read through the operation manual for the equipment to be connected.
• Be sure that the colors of the jacks and plugs match up when connecting the cable.
• Be sure to keep the Unit connection cables separate from the TV antenna cable when you install the Unit,
because it may cause electrical interference when you are watching television programs.
Connecting a TV
The connection method differs depending on the type of TV.
If you have cable TV (CATV), see “Cable TV Connections” on page 20.
RF Connection (for connection to a TV without AV jacks)
1 Disconnect the TV antenna from the TV.
2 Connect the TV antenna cable to the IN FROM ANTENNA jack on the rear of the Unit.
3 Connect the OUT TO TV jack on the rear of the Unit to the antenna jack on the TV using a coaxial cable.
Select the TV channel 3 or 4 corresponding to the 3 ↔ 4 output channel selector of the Unit. (See “Setting the

The 3 ↔ 4 OUTPUT CHANNEL selector changes the VCR output to standard TV broadcasting signals. Both your
TV and Unit must be set to the same channel (i.e. TV on channel 3 and Unit’s OUTPUT CHANNEL selector on 3).
Your Unit is set to channel 3 at the factory, so your TV should be tuned to channel 3 as well. If channel 3 is an
active broadcast channel in your area, set the Unit’s 3 ↔ 4 OUTPUT CHANNEL selector to 4 and tune your TV
to channel 4.
After the Connection
Plug in the power cord of the TV. Then go to EZ Set Up (See page 26).
