Displaying the Date and Time
of Recording
The date and time, once set, are stored in
memory. You can display them on the monitor
during playback even if they were off during
recording.

Display the menu screen (VCR mode)
using the MENU button and the Opera
button (0 ).

Select “DISP.” and set it to “DATE” or
“DATE+TIME” using the 0 button.
Notes:
l You can also display the date and time by pressing
the DATE DISPLAY ON/OFF button on the remote
control. (When the tape is not running, the current
date or time will be displayed.)
l If you wish to display the date and time during
playback, make sure, before recording, that the date
and time have been set correctly. If they are not set,
‘I
--.--.--” will be displayed. This will also be displayed
on blank or damaged portions of the tape
Video Search
This function makes it easy for you to searc
a scene near the current tape position.

During playback, press m on the Opera-
tion button (0 ) to select “FF” ( I ) (or + to
select “REW” [ 2 1) on the a screen (VCR
mode). The fast forward (or reverse) play-
back picture is displayed on-screen.

./HI on the 0 button to select “PLAY” to
return to normal playback.

Notes:
l The sound is off during search
l Some picture noise appears durtng search This is
not a malfunction.
Still
This function makes it possible to freeze the
picture. During playback, press b/w on the 0
button to select “STILL” on the @I screen (VCR
mode). To return to normal playback, press ./HI
to select “STILL” once again.
Slow
This function makes it possible to play back in
slow motion. During playback, press the SLOW
button on the remote control. To return to
normal playback, press PLAY button on the
remote control to select “PLAY”.

l The sound is off during Still and Slow modes.
l To protect the tape, the VIEWCAM automatically
returns to ordinary playback if It is left in Still mode
for more than 5 minutes or in Slow mode for more
than about 40 seconds.
l Still image playback can also be operated with the
remote control. (See page 40 )
l If still or slow functions are used when connected to
a TV, noise WIII appear and distort the image
l Slow function cannot be operated from the VIEW-
CAM.
