Disabling serial communications to the meter
Disabling the COM port using the meter display
You have the option of disabling the serial communications (COM) port through the
meter display when the port is not being used.
Disabling unused ports is considered a cybersecurity best practice to help minimize
unauthorized access to your meter.
1. Go to Setup Menu > Communications Setup > COM1 Setup.
2. Press the navigation button to scroll to the Protocol entry.
3. Press the edit button and provide security credentials if required.
