Localization node of a device is identified in the Localization structure with a ’?’ if its
localization data are invalid
Localization data invalid
prefix: ?
CAUTION:
If the base identification of a detector is missing, it still functions under normal operating
conditions. Problems may occur in the following cases:
The detector is replaced with another
Because the base identification is missing, the control unit does not know the local-
ization of the replaced detector and, as a result, cannot automatically allocate the
new detector the same bus address
The new replacement detector is given a different bus address and its localization
must be re-determined
Because the control unit no longer receives a response from the bus address of the
replaced detector, a trouble message is displayed
A localization node marked ’?’ can still be allocated to a logical element but remains
marked in the localization structure. Because the allocated elements and devices of
the logical and physical structure are not marked, the information is lost, as soon as
the localization data is overwritten or erased. If the base identification is missing, al-
location should be carried out in exceptional cases only. As a rule, the fault should
be eliminated first.
