4.4.4 Address allocation through activation

Requirements

Detector bases mounted

 As a rule, the detectors have already been inserted in the bases when address al-

location by activation is started. It is, however, also possible for a detector to be in-

serted during address allocation and then activated.

Fixed devices mounted, electronics inserted

During address allocation all devices that have been inserted and installed but not yet

localized and allocated in the control unit, must be activated.

Connected fixed devices and inserted automatic detectors must be localized, other-

wise faults will arise in the localization structure.

Switch control unit to ’Address allocation through activation’ mode ( page 91)

Wait until the control unit is ready

Localize the first device

Activate detectors, manual call points or input / output module( page 101)

Wait until the response indicator flashes

Can take up to 20 seconds depending on configuration

Response indicator flashes for about 5 seconds

No other devices must be activated for at least 20 seconds

The device must not be removed again until address allocation has been completed.
