6.2.2 Installing/removing expansion module (M.2)
Note
Requirement for M.2 mod
ule
You can find the permitted dimensions for M.2 module under "Usable expansion module
(M.2) (Page 72)". If the permissible height is exceeded, contact problems, malfunctions
and installation difficulties cannot be ruled out.
You can find information on which M.2 modules you can install under "Usable expansion
module (M.2) (Page 72)".
Requirements
You know the information about the M.2 module and the conditions when using the M.2
module, see "Usable expansion module (M.2) (Page 72)".
The device is open, see important information under "Opening and closing the backplane
cover (Page 68)".
Adapter plates: If the M.2 module (see "Dimension drawing of expansion modules (M.2)
(Page 108)") to be used has external interfaces, you can use the adapter plates supplied
with the M.2 module to install the connectors.
Screwdriver types Torx T8 and T10
Procedure - Installation
1.
Remove the marked screw on the
motherboard with the type Torx
T8
screwdriver.
2.
Insert the M.2 module into the provided
slot
(X100).
Take care not to touch the contacts of
the M.2 module when you do this.
3.
Fasten the M.2 module with the screw
that you removed in the first step.
Only use the original screws with the
spacers.
Note: Make sure that the M.2 module is between the head and the spacer of the screw.
