Port Configuration
Chapter 3
Port Configuration
3.1 Introduction to Port
Switch contains Cable ports and Combo ports. The Combo ports can be configured to as either
1000GX-TX ports or SFP Gigabit fiber ports.
If the user needs to configure some network ports, he/she can use the interface ethernet
<interface-list> command to enter the appropriate Ethernet port configuration mode, where <interface-
list> stands for one or more ports. If <interface-list> contains multiple ports, special characters
such as ';' or '-' can be used to separate ports, ';' is used for discrete port numbers and '-' is used
for consecutive port numbers. Suppose an operation should be performed on ports 2,3,4,5 the
command would look like: interface ethernet 1/2-5. Port speed, duplex mode and traffic con-
trol can be configured under Ethernet Port Mode causing the performance of the corresponding
network ports to change accordingly.
