Before removing the piston, decide
whether or not the crankshaft is to
be removed as well.
The crankshaft is blocked by
placing the piston on the wooden
assembly block in order to remove
the flywheel and clutch.
– Remove the clutch, b 6
– Remove the flywheel, b 8.5
: Prise the hookless snap rings
(arrow) out of the piston grooves.
Note:
Wear goggles to protect your eyes
when working with springs and snap
rings.
: Push the piston pin (1) out of the
piston (2) with the assembly drift
(3) 1111 893 4700.
If the piston pin is stuck, tap the end
of the assembly drift lightly with a
hammer to loosen it.

Note:
The piston must be held steady
during this process to ensure that
jolts are not transmitted to the
connecting rod.
– Remove the piston from the
connecting rod and take the
needle cage out of the small end.
– Inspect the piston rings and
replace if necessary, b 7.7
: Thoroughly clean the sealing
face (1).
Note:
The sealing face must not display
any signs of damage.
: Wet the needle cage (2) with oil

and insert it in the small end.
: Push the piston over the
connecting rod.
Note:
The mark (1) must point towards the
muffler when positioning the piston.

: Push the assembly drift (1)
1111 893 4700, small diameter
first, through the piston and small
end, and line up the piston.

: Fit the piston pin (2) on the small
diameter of the assembly drift (1)
and slide it into the piston (arrow).
