: Pull the auxiliary filter (1) out of
the filter base.
Check the auxiliary filter and
replace it if damaged or dirty.

: Examine gasket (arrow) in filter
housing and replace it if
necessary.
Reassemble remaining parts in
reverse order.
Tightening torques, b 3.6

Remove shroud, b 7.4
Remove the air filter, b 12.1
Close the choke shutter on the
carburetor.
: Unscrew the nuts (1) on the
carburetor.
: Undo the screws (2).

: Pull the air hose (1) off the filter
base.
: Disconnect the compensator
hose (2) and fuel pump intake
hose (3) from the carburetor.

: Disconnect the tank vent hose (1)
and return hose (2) to the fuel
pump.
Examine the hoses and replace
them if necessary.

If there are leaks in the tank
housing, these may also be due to a
defective rubber grommet.
: Prise off the rubber grommet (1)
with a suitable tool.

: Press the rubber grommet (1)
into the hole in the tank housing
until the rubber lip lies tightly
against the housing.
