– Remove shroud, b 7.4
– Remove the air filter, b 12.1
– Remove the filter base, b 12.1.1
– Remove the carburetor,
b 12.2.1
– Unscrew the rubber buffers,
b 10.2
A damaged intake manifold may
lead to impaired engine
performance.
– Troubleshooting, b 4.4 or
b 4.5
: Remove the sleeve (1).
– Press the connectors of the
intake manifold out through the
hole in the tank housing towards
the cylinder.

: Release the hose clip (1) on the
intake manifold.
– Draw the intake manifold (arrow)
off the cylinder port and hole in
the tank housing.

: When installing the intake
manifold, ensure that the flat
sides (arrows) on the intake
manifold and on the intake
connector of the cylinder are
lined up with one another.
: To draw the manifold flange into
the intake port of the tank
housing, wrap a piece of string
(1) approx. 15 cm long round the
manifold and guide the ends of
the string through the intake port.
– Press the manifold down
between cylinder and tank
housing.
: Draw the ends of the string
through the intake port with the
manifold flange.
– Coat with Press Fluid OH 723,
b 14
In this way, the manifold flange is
fitted through the intake port of the
tank housing without damaging the
manifold.
: Ensure that the flange (arrows) is
correctly seated in the tank
housing.
– Reassemble remaining parts in
reverse order.
– Tightening torques, b 3.6
