Remove the fan cover, b 7.5
Remove the ignition module,

Unplug the spark plug boot.

: Pull the grommet (1) off the high-
voltage output (2).
: Unscrew the ignition lead (3) from
the contact pin and pull it out of
the high-voltage output.
: Pull the grommet off the ignition

: Use suitable pliers to pull the leg
spring out of the spark plug boot.
Unhook the leg spring from the
ignition lead.
Pull the boot off the ignition lead.

Cut the new ignition lead to a
length of 295 mm.
Use a pointed tool to pierce the
centre of the lead's insulation
about 15 mm from the end of the
ignition lead.
: Pinch the hook of the leg spring
into the centre of the ignition lead
(arrow).

Coat the inside of the spark plug
boot with
Press Fluid, b 14
: Push the ignition lead and leg
spring into the spark plug boot.

: Use a pointed tool to pierce the
other end of the ignition lead,
which is to be connected to the
ignition module.
Refit the grommet.
Pack the high-voltage output with
VA
176RA162
STIHL multi-purpose grease,
b 14
Note:
Do not use either graphite grease or
silicone insulating paste.
Screw the ignition lead into the
ignition module.
Push the grommet over the high-
voltage output.
