– Remove the starter cover with
rewind starter, b 9.2
– Relieve the tension of the rewind
spring
and remove the rope rotor, b 9.4
The rewind spring will not be under
tension if the starter rope is broken.
: Prise the rope nipple (1) out of
the starter grip.

: Pull the rope or remaining rope
out of the starter grip.
– Remove any remaining rope from
the rope rotor if necessary.

: Thread the new rope (1) through
the top of the starter grip.

: Then thread the rope (1) through
the opening (arrow) of the starter
cover.

: Finally, draw the rope (1) into the
rope rotor (arrows).

: Secure the rope (1) with a simple
overhand knot.
– Pull the rope into the rotor until
the knot rests in the recess in the
rope rotor.

: Press the nipple (1) of the starter
rope into the starter grip until it
engages there.
– Install the rope rotor and tension
the rewind spring, b 9.4
– Install the starter cover with
