Note:
Always use a new limiter cap; 
before fitting it, hold it so that the 
bump on the limiter cap is below the 
stop (arrow) on the carburetor body, 
then press it home on the high 
speed screw.
: Press the limiter cap onto the 
high speed screw H.
The high speed screw H is now 
limited. The standard setting has 
been obtained when the high speed 
screw H is turned anticlockwise until 
it engages.
Setting the idle speed 
– Check air filter, replace if 
necessary.
– Check belt tension.
– Let the engine warm up.
Set idle speed with a speed tester. 
Set the specified speeds within the 
tolerance range of +/- 200 rpm.
1.  Set the speed to 3300 rpm with 
the idle speed adjusting screw LA.
2.  Turn the low speed screw L 
clockwise or anticlockwise to set the 
highest speed.
If this speed is more than 3700 rpm, 
stop the adjustment and start again 
with step 1.
3. Set the speed to 3300 rpm again 
with the idle speed adjusting 
screw LA.
4.  Set the speed to 2200 rpm with 
the low speed screw L.
If the correct setting still cannot be 
made, check the intake system 
(intake and air manifold) for signs of 
damage.
The limiter cap must not be 
removed from the high speed screw 
when making the user setting. 
– The setting of the high speed 
screw  H can be adjusted on this 
carburetor, in accordance with 
the prevailing conditions.
Standard setting
– Switch off engine
– Check air filter and replace it if 
necessary, b 12.1
– Check the spark arresting screen 
in the muffler (if installed), and 
clean or replace it if necessary, 
b 7.1
– Carefully turn the high speed 
screw H anticlockwise as far as 
possible (max. 3/4 turn).  
– Carefully turn the low speed 
screw L clockwise as far as 
possible, then open it 1 turn.
