Remove the carburetor,
b 12.2.1
Remove the choke lever from the
carburetor, b 12.2.1
Sealing rings, choke shaft
: Remove the circlip (arrow) with a
suitable tool.
Remove the sealing ring (1),
b 12.3.5

: Pull the ring (1) and sealing
ring (2) off the choke shaft.
Examine the sealing ring and
replace it if necessary.

The choke shaft must be removed
and cleaned, b 12.3.5, if its guides
are severely fouled.
Reassemble parts in reverse
order.
Sealing rings, air flap shaft
Sealing ring (1) can only be
removed after removing the air
flap shaft, b 12.3.7
Remove the sealing ring (2),
b 12.3.7
The air flap shaft must be removed

and cleaned, b 12.3.7, if its guides
are severely fouled.
Adjust the air flap rod if
necessary, b 12.3.9
There are three adjusting screws on
the carburetor:
H = High speed screw (1)
L = Low speed screw (2)
LA = Idle speed screw (3)
If the carburetor setting can no
longer be adjusted, this may also be

due to the adjusting screws.
Note:
Only the high speed screw has a
limiter cap; a new cap must always
be used after dismantling the high
speed screw.
Remove shroud, b 7.4
Refer also to troubleshooting on the
carburetor, b 4.4
Low speed screw
: Take out the low speed screw (1).
