– Remove cylinder, b 7.6.1
– Undo screws (arrows).
Note:
The diaphragms on opposite sides
are identical.
: Pull out diaphragm (1) with
support plate, examine it and
replace if necessary.
Note:
Faulty diaphragms may lead to
impaired engine operation.

: Slide the diaphragm and support
plate into the opening in the
cylinder wall with a suitable tool,
ensuring that the lug (1) on the
support plate is lined up with the
groove (2) in the cylinder.

: Insert the diaphragm and support
plate with the cylindrical shoulder
in the hole in the cylinder wall.
: Insert and tighten down the screw
(arrow).
– Tightening torque, b 3.6
– Reassemble remaining parts in
reverse order.
– Remove piston, b 7.6.1
– Remove piston rings from piston.
: Use a piece of old piston ring to
scrape the grooves clean
(arrows).
: Install the new piston rings in the
grooves so that the radii at the
ends of the rings (arrows) face
towards the piston head.
