10.6 DRY-TYPE DUST COLLECTION
A dry-type dust collection device consists of dust hood, cyclone, laminar flow, fan and
pipes. Cover the hole by dust hood tightly, blow up the powder and dust by air fan. Then, pump
it into dust collection device. Large dust particles would be removed by cyclone, small ones
would be removed by laminar flow dust collector. As equipped with solenoid impulse valve,
laminar flow dust collector filter core can be cleaned in proper sequence which keeps the
resistance force within a certain value and promises the dust collecting efficiency. During
assembling, disassembling of Kelly bar or traveling of machine, close the fan exit, the dust on
filter core would be blown off easier. Once the resistance force becomes too large, disassemble
the filter core from the laminar flow dust collector and wash it with high pressure water.
10.7 WET-TYPE DUST COLLECTION
Theory
Wet-type duct collection system mainly includes water inlet filter, water tank, water outlet
filter, high-pressure cleaner, water flow regulation valve, pipeline etc. In cold northern region,
there’s an electric heater installed on the water tank. Fill clean water into the high pressure gas of
air compressor of DTH drilling rig with a jetting machine, it atomizes into water spray through
the high-pressure air, which combining with rock dust while slagging, then condense the rock
dust into groups that lowering to the ground to reach the aim of dust removing by reducing the
swirling dust. The water volume can be adjusted by the outlet control valve and backwater
regulating valve according to the swirling dust. In cold days of the northern area, the electric
heater on the water tank can be powered on to heat up the water and prevent freeze. The water
tank capacity is 400L, the water pump outlet pressure is 6MPa, water pump flow is 9~15 L/min.
Operation
（1）Fill up the water tank from the top water feeding zone or the air filter, observe the water
level from the level gauge on the side of the water tank.
（2） Adjust the opening of the backwater regulating valve before starting the impactor to
keep it at the suitable position, then run the jetting machine.
（3）Observe the swirling dust while drilling, if there’s too much, increase the water amount
appropriately by turning up the outlet control valve to reduce the swirling dust. The water
volume refer to that it’s suitable when the discharged dust griped by hand can gather together
and it can be shaken to disperse. The water filling volume is too small if dust can’t be gathered;
open up the outlet control valve to increase the water volume. It’s too large if dust can’t be
dispersed; close down the valve to save water.
(4) Keep water pump and outlet control valve open appropriately while drilling and cleaning
