Auto mode, when forcing triggers in th e absence of valid trigge ring events, does not synchronize the waveform on the display. The
waveform will appear to roll across the screen. If valid triggers occur, the display will become stable.
You can also force the instrument to trigger by pushing the front-pa nel Force Trig button.
Trigg er Holdoff
Adjust holdoff to obtain sta ble triggering when
the instrument is triggering on undesired trigger
events.
Trigger holdoff can help stabilize triggering,
since the oscilloscope does not recognize
new triggers during the holdoff time. When
the instrum ent recognizes a trigger event, it
disables the trigger system until acquisition
is comp lete. In addition, the trigger system
remains disabled during the holdoff period that
follows each acquisition.
