ywheelhousing.
14.Onbothsidesofthetransmission,removetheretainingringthatsecuresthe
pumpcontrolrodendontothetransmissioncontrolarm(Figure59).Slide
thecontrolrodfromthecontrolarm.
15.Ifthehydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthetransmission,putamark
onthettingorientationforcorrectassembly.Removethehydraulicttings
fromthetransmissionasnecessary.DiscardthettingO-rings.
16.Inspecttheywheelhousingandcouplerontheengineywheelforwear
ordamage.
InstallingtheTransmission
1.Ensurethattheywheelcouplerandywheelhousingaresecureonthe
engine;refertoChapter3:DieselEngine(page3–1).
2.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthetransmission,lubricateand
installnewO-ringsontothettings.Installthettingsintothetransmission
ports;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-Ring
FittingintotheComponentPort)(page4–7).Tightenthettingstothetorque
valuesidentiedinFigure61.
3.Ifthegearpumpwasremovedfromthetransmission,installthegearpump;
refertoInstallingtheGearPump(page4–107).
4.Slideboththepumpcontrolrodsontothetransmissioncontrolarmsand
attachthemwithretainingrings(Figure59).
