Two Clutch System (Fig. 1)
Power is transferred from the engine to the transaxle
and spray pump by a variable c lutch system that con-
sistsoftwoclutchesconnectedbyadrivebelt.Thedrive
clutch responds to engine speed and is mounted to the
engine driveshaft. The driven clutch responds to
changesinloadfromthetransaxleandspray pumpand
is mounted to the pump drive gearbox input shaft.
Thetwoclutchesworktogethertoautomaticallyup--shift
andback--shiftaschangesinloadandspeedoccur.This
shiftingchanges theturningratio betweenthedrive and
drivenclutchesandallowstheenginetooperate atopti-
mum efficiency.
