Special Tools
Order special tools from your Toro Distributor. Some
tools may also be available from a local supplier.
Multimeter
The multimeter can test electrical components and cir-
cuits for current, resistance or voltage.
NOTE: Toro recommends the use of a DIGITAL Volt--
Ohm--Amp multimeter when testing electrical circuits.
Thehighimpedance(internalresistance)ofadigitalme-
ter in the voltage mode will make sure that excess cur-
rent is not allowed through the meter. This excess
current can cause damage to circuits not designed to
carry it.

Skin--Over Grease
Specialnon--conductive greasewhich formsa lightpro-
tective skin to help waterproof electrical switches and
contacts.

Dielectric Gel
Dielectric gel should be used to prevent corrosion of
connectionterminals.Toensurecompletec oatingofter-
minals, liberally apply gel to both component and wire
harness c onnector, plug connector to component, un-
plug connector, reapply gel to both surfaces and Con-
nect harness connector to component. Connectors
should be thoroughly packed with gel for effective re-
sults.
