11.3 Hardware 111
time co de. The current sample number is shown with each line. At line 13 the tape
was stopp ed and recording was b egun. Line 13 shows the sample number at which
a new signal was acquired and the real time reects the current time of day. Note
that the new passage was stored in
test.d02
. We can also see that recording is
being done using 8 channels and that channel 2's input level was changed to 20V
maximum.
Between lines 13 and 14 the unit was stopp ed and sat idle for 16 minutes. At line
14 recording was resumed and the new data was stored in
test.d03
. After a few
seconds of recording the RD1x5T was switched to 2 channel recording and then 4
channels at double speed (2x).
Note that the 1x or 2x sp eed indicated in the control le or while
teacin
is running
indicates the information stored when the tap e was recorded. Since the TEAC decks
do not enforce the playback speed to agree with the recorded sp eed, this may not
reect the actual playback speed. It is recommended that the TEAC's sp eed select
switch b e set to the same value as that at which the data was originally recorded.
Transferring Data to the RD1x5T
Data can also be transferred from a host computer to the RD1x5T for recording
onto tap e

To return the unit to normal analog mode, rep eat the ab ove steps pressing the

In the 16-bit mode, data transferred from the host computer via the
DAT-Link
can
be stored onto tap e with the
naplay

Note that the TEAC does NOT provide the capability to listen to the audio channels while
