Some remote controls generate a multi-step sequence when certain buttons are
pressed. The
rctrain
program will acquire just one of the steps in these sequences
during training. For example, the
standby
button on many remote controls is often
implemented by sending a
record
command followed bya
pause
command. When
using the
DAT-Link
,you will need to train the two commands separately. You can
then p erform the
standby
operation using:
rc record pause
Training a device creates or appends to remote description les stored in a system
directory. Their format is described in Appendix B.5 along with some notes on
what kind of mo dications may be necessary.
