Recording Tutorial
This chapter describ es how to use the
DAT-Link
to capture audio onto a disk le on
your computer. The audio data may come from a DAT machine, a CD player, or any
other audio device connected to one of the
DAT-Link
's digital audio inputs. Live
recordings can be made by using a DAT machine as a analog-to-digital converter
as described b elow.
6.1 Setting up the DAT Machine
6.1.1 Transferring Audio From a DAT Tape to a Disk File
Connect the
DAT-Link
to the DAT machine as describ ed in Section 2.5.
Make sure the NetAudio server is running on the machine which has the
DAT-Link
. See Section 3.1 for details.
Insert the tap e into the DAT machine.
Run the
narecord
program on the computer as described b elow.
Start the DAT playing.
While playing, the audio signal can be monitored by using the DAT's head-
phone or analog outputs.
6.1.2 Transferring Audio From a CD to a Disk File
Connect the
DAT-Link
to the CD player as describ ed in Section 2.5.
