Third Party Supp ort
11.1 User Interfaces
The
DAT-Link
software includes supp ort for third-party software that provide gen-
eral signal pro cessing functionality and/or graphical display and editing of wave-
forms. There are two parts to these interfaces:
Ability to read/write data les in formats that allow them to be used with
the other software.
Connections with third-party graphical interfaces to allow access to the DAT-
Link's functions with a consistent user interface.
Currently, the
DAT-Link
includes support for two general purpose packages: En-
tropic Research Laboratory's Signal Pro cessing System (ESPS) with the waves+
graphical interface, and Comdisco Systems' Signal Pro cessing Worksystem (SPW).
Both of these systems provide the ability to perform signal processing op erations
as well as view and edit signals using a graphical interface.
11.1.1 Entropic Research ESPS/

To use the
DAT-Link
with ESPS or
waves+
, you must have the ESPS/
waves+
product installed on the machine b efore installing the
DAT-Link
software. During
the installation pro cess you will b e prompted for the lo cation of the ESPS programs
and libraries that are used to build the software with supp ort for ESPS les. That
support includes the ability to read and write ESPS sampled-data les and some
extensions to the
waves+
graphical environment that allow direct access to the
DAT-Link
's functions from menus and control panels.
