NAME
naset parameters/pause control for NetAudio server.
SYNOPSIS
naset [–u host:unit ][–P|-R][–c ][–g gain ][–p][–r ][–s serialmode ][–S clocksource ][–v
D
VUdecay ]
ESCRIPTION
naset can be used to set various parameters of the NetAudio server. Parameters can be changed at any
OPTIONS
time, even while playback or recording is underway.
–P Subsequent options affect only playback.
–R Subsequent options affect only recording. If neither –P nor –R are given, then the options will
affect both recording and playback.
c Clear all parameters to their default state: gain=1, VUdecay = 40dB/second, not paused, serial
mode = AES/EBU.
g gain This option allows the user to specify the gain used for playback and recording. The nominal
c
value is 1.0 and any floating point value can be used. Note that values greater than 1.0 may
ause clipping and should be used with caution.
e–p Pause playback or recording. Using While transfers are paused, zeroes are inserted into th
data stream such that all filters are allowed to settle without unusual transients.
–r Resumes a previously paused transfer.
s serialmode
Sets the configuration of the DAT-Link’s DSP32C’s serial port. This can be used to select the
e
A
input and output sources between the infrared receiver, the DSP-Port on the DAT-Link+, th
ES/EBU transceiver, and numerous other signals. The serialmode argument is described in
l
m
the DAT-Link User’s Manual. Available modes can be listed by specifying help as the seria
ode.
–S source
Set clock source. Source may be O, E,orIto select the internal oscillator, external clock, or
c
digital input as the clock source. In addition, source may be prefixed by G to indicate that a
lock should be generated on the external clock output connector. Otherwise, clock output will
be disabled.
y–v VUdeca
This option allows the user to set the decay rate of the VU level metering implemented within
e
V
the DAT-Link. The argument specifies the rate in dB/second that peaks should decay on th
U meters. VU displays can be obtained using nastatus(1).
–u host:unit
Use the NetAudio server on host that is connected to the DAT-Link with unit-number unit.
,Otherwise, use the value of the environment variable. If it is not set either
AUDIO_DEVICE
ENVIRONMENT
then use unit 0 on the local host.
AUDIO_DEVICE NetAudio server to use of the form host:nn , where host is the name of the host
t
s
where the server is running and nn is the unit number of the DAT-Link to use. If no
et, unit 0 on the local host is used is used.
