It is also p ossible to create a remote control description manually for use with a
device that has a serial remote control. The remote connector on the rear of the
DAT-Link
can then b e directly connected to the device using a custom-built cable.
Since serial remote controls usually do not use a carrier, you will need to set the
carrier on-time to 200 and the o-time to 0 to disable it. Also, the p olarity setting
may need to be set to -1 to properly interface with the device. The modulation
patterns for each command need to be constructed from information that can be
found in most such device's service or user manuals.
