156 NAPLAY(1)
Specify the sampling rate that will be used to generate the digital output data. Legal values
t
f
are 32000, 44100, 48000. These may be prefixed by the letter E, S, A, F, and/or G. The firs
our select an external clock source from the External Clock, SPDIF, AES, or FIBER inputs
c
respectively. The G prefix instructs the DAT-Link to output it’s clock on the External Clock
onnector. Without a prefix, the DAT-Link’s internal clock generator is used. The SPDIF,
d
AES and FIBER settings ( prefixes S, A,orF) generate output locked to incoming digital
ata on the respective input. Note that the digital output from most DAT machines is locked
e
d
to their inputs and thus cannot also be used as a source for the DAT-Link’s output. Th
efault setting is 48,000 samples per second using the internal clock.
–s file_sampling_rate
This option is used to specify the sampling rate to be used for playback of each file. Using this
t
f
option invokes the sample-rate conversion software in the DAT-Link, if the rate is differen
rom the rate at which the digital output generated (the argument to the –S option). Quality and
e
t
filtering characteristics of the conversion depend upon the sampling rates and whether th
ransfer is mono or stereo. See the DAT-Link User’s Manual for details.
–t seconds
Transfer seconds seconds of audio from each file and then stop.
–u host:unit
Use the NetAudio server on host that is connected to the DAT-Link with unit-number unit.
,Otherwise, use the value of the environment variable. If it is not set either
AUDIO_DEVICE
ENVIRONMENT
then use unit 0 on the local host.
AUDIO_DEVICE Default NetAudio server to use, of the form host:nn , where host is the name of the
.
I
host where the server is running and nn is the unit number of the DAT-Link to use
f not set, unit 0 on the local host is used is used.
D Name of remote device for use with -a option.L_RC
CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
naplay.AutoStart True to automatically start/stop DAT machine. [off]
n
naplay.Consumer True to generate consumer channel status info. [on]
aplay.filter.resp.nn.mm
If non-null, the specification of filter response for sample-rate converter which
n
u
converts from nn to mm samples/second. See the User’s Manual for details o
sing this option. [NULL]
]
n
naplay.stopband.atten Attenuation, in dB, of sample-rate converters anti-aliasing stopband. [90
aplay.bufferTime This option provides some control over the internal buffering of the DAT-Link.
b
The option value specifies the minimum number of seconds of data that should
e buffered internally in the DAT-Link before playback commences. Increas-
o
ing this value will decrease the likelihood of the buffers being underrun due to
ther activity on the host computer. Making it too large will increase the
o
latency between the time the naplay command is entered and the time sound
utput commences. The default value of 1 second is usually a good trade-off.
b
Note that this option acts only as a hint to the DAT-Link; the exact amount of
uffering may be slightly different. [1]

and user bytes, the remaining bytes will be set to default values. Also, the left channel status is used fo
oth the left and right channels. DAT-Link version 1.4 can set all 24 channel status bytes for each
