Connecting Shields to Earth
Connect a cable shield at one end of the cable, typically at the controller. Also, a
connection should be provided near the termination panel using an external shield
bus bar. Such bus bars are available from Phoenix Contact or other terminal block
suppliers. You should individually connect each shield bus bar to a suitable, quiet
ground point, such as a dedicated protective earth or a DCS master reference
ground, as shown on page 155.
