History Data Processing
History data is data that the AviMet system stores in ASCII files for a
period of one month or one year depending on the configuration of the
system. The stored data can be meteorological values that were shown in
Weather View and system events that were shown in the Diagnostics
application.
Meteorological values are basically processed sensor data. This phase was
illustrated in section Sensor Data Processing on page 38, and it is not
repeated in the following chart.
The principal process in the ASCII files data storage is the ASCII DB
service. This process gathers the meteorological objects, report objects,
and alarm objects after they have been created as described in the previous
sections.
The ASCII DB service stores the data in the history files by data type and
site, for example LLWAS_WIND_DATA_date.his,
LLWAS_EVENTS_date.his, LLWAS_REPORTS_date.his. The end-user
can browse these files with the ASCII Log View application.
