Changing the Switch-over Mode to
Manual
In duplicated systems, the system controls automatically which CDU is
active. This is called Automatic switch-over mode. See section Duplicated
System on page 20.
You can change the active CDU by clicking the Switch CDU button, see
section Manually Changing the Active CDU on page 69.
If need to change the active CDU more permanently, you have to first
change the switch-over mode from automatic to manual by doing the
following:
1. In the Diagnostics application, view the System Status panel.
2. Check the text in the Switchover mode column for the corresponding
CDU:
- If the text is "Manual", the system is already in manual switch-
over mode and you do not need to change the mode.
- If the text is "Automatic", click the Change switchover mode
button to change the mode to Manual.
3. Confirm the message informing you of the change that you are about
to make.
Changing Back to Automatic Switch-over Mode
When the manual mode is no longer needed remember to switch back to
Automatic switch-over mode:
1. Click the Change switchover mode button.
2. Confirm the message informing you of the change that you are about
to make.
CAUTION
When the Manual switch-over mode is selected and the active CDU
encounters problems, the system does not automatically switch over to
the properly functioning CDU. It is your responsibility to monitor the
situation and make sure that a faulty CDU is not the active one.
