How do I switch between the far and near vision positions?
When far vision is selected, the Near/Far Vision button appears as . When near
vision is selected, it appears as .
➢ To switch between them, select the Near/Far Vision button.
- Or -
➢ To switch from far vision to near vision, select the Add button.
➢ To switch from near vision to far vision, select one of the far vision buttons (S, C, or A).
How do I use the cross cylinder?
➢ Open the eye you want to work on, and close the other eye.
Then:
Call the cross cylinder from accessories selector
➢ Tap on Status of the eyes & Accessories button (#4a & 4b in paragraph Refraction area
page 34).
The accessories selector opens.
➢ Tap on cross cylinder accessory (#7 in paragraph Accessories page 36)
Call the cross cylinder from the keyboard
➢ Tap on ‘1’ or ‘2’ button of the keyboard (#1 or #2 in paragraph Control the cross cylinder
(XCyl) page 53).
Use the cross cylinder
➢ Select cylinder or axis area according to axis verification or cylinder verification.
➢ Use ‘1’ & ‘2’ button to switch from position 1 to position 2:
• From the screen: #6 and #8 in Interface when cross cylinder is used page 37.
• From the keyboard: #1 and #2 in Control the cross cylinder (XCyl) page 53.
➢ Indicates the preference between ‘1’ and ‘2’:
• From the screen:
Tap on according “Validate” button (#5 and #9 in Interface when cross cylinder
is used page 37).
- Or -
Tap on ‘+’ button if ‘1’ is preferred; on ‘-’ button if ‘2’ is preferred.
• From the keyboard: click on ‘+’ button if ‘1’ is preferred; on ‘-‘ button if ‘2’ is
preferred (#8 & #9 in Change the refraction page 49).
➢ Indicates no preference between ‘1’ and ‘2’:
• From the screen: Tap on Equal button, #7 in Interface when cross cylinder is
used page 37.
• From the keyboard: Press on Knob, #12 in Change the refraction page 49.
When no preference is indicated when axis is verified, cylinder area is automatically
selected.
When no preference is indicated when cylinder is verified, sphere area is automatically
selected and cross cylinder verification stops.
How do I change the cross cylinder value?
Change default cross cylinder value
➢ Go to Menu > Settings > Refraction
➢ Select the wanted value: ±0.25, ±0.50 or DUAL.
Change cross cylinder value during an exam
➢ Select the wanted value in the cross cylinder value selector (#2 in Interface when cross
cylinder is used page 37).
