Drive shaft and lower case
11. Insert a gear oil tube into the drain hole
and slowly fill the gear oil until oil flows
out of the check hole and no air bubbles
are visible.
NOTE:
To check the gear oil, refer to page 3-17.
12. Install the new gaskets t, check screw
y, drain screw u quickly, and then tight-
en to specified torque.
9. Place a block of wood between the anti-
cavitation plate and the propeller, and
then tighten the nut to the specified
torque.

9 Do not hold the propeller with your
hands when loosening or tightening it.
9 Be sure to disconnect the battery cables
from the battery and remove the lock
plate from the engine stop lanyard
switch.
9 Put a block of wood between the anti-
cavitation plate and propeller to prevent
the propeller from turning.
NOTE:
If the grooves in the propeller nut r do not
align with the propeller shaft hole, tighten the
nut until they are aligned.
10. Install a new cotter pin to the propeller
shaft.
Propeller nut r:
35 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25.8 ft·lb)
