SPARK PLUG CAP (WITH RESISTER)
1. Inspect:
9Spark plug cap
Loose ® Tighten.
Cracks/damage ® Replace.
2. Remove:
9Spark plug cap
3. Measure:
9Spark plug cap resistance
Out of specification ® Replace.
Replacement steps:
(resister type)
8 To remove the spark plug cap turn it
counter clockwise.
8 To install the spark plug cap turn it
clockwise until it is tight.
Spark plug cap resistance:
With resister type
4.0 ~ 6.0 k½
Measuring steps:
8 Connect the pocket tester (k½x1) to
the ignitor ass’y lead.
Secondary:
Tester (+) lead ® White lead
Tester (-) lead ®
High-tension cord
Ignitor ass’y coil resistance:
Secondary coil: 11.6 ~ 17.4 k½
