Crankcase inspection
1. Inspect:
9Crankcase (water passage and shaft
holder)
Crack/Wear/Damage ® Replace.
Clog/Dusty ® Clean.
Connecting rod oil clearance
1. Measure:
9Connecting rod big end oil clearance
Out of specification ® Replace the
connecting rod as a set.

Big end oil clearance:
0.016 ~ 0.046 mm
(0.0006 ~ 0.0018 in)
Oil splash gear unit inspection
1. Inspect:
9Oil splash gear unit
9Gear teeth
Unsmooth operation ® Replace.
Wear/Damage/Crack ® Replace.
Bearing inspection
1. Inspect:
9Bearing
Pitting/Rumbling ® Replace.
NOTE:
Turn the bearing by fingers and check the
bearing pitching
Oil seal housing inspection
1. Inspect:
9Oil seal housing
Crack/Damage ® Replace.
