A. Preparations
The test program has “MANUAL MODE” wherein panel
switches are used for operation and “MIDI MODE” wherein
MIDI signals are used for operation. Each mode has different
way of entering into test mode, test procedures and test items.
However, LCD display on the unit and MIDI judgment output
code are common. The following descriptions are used for
MIDI code and LCD display on the unit hereinafter.
• MIDI code output from the unit:
“<==” is attached behind MIDI code
• MIDI code for operating the unit:
“==>” is attached ahead of MIDI code
• Panel switch:
Closed with brackets [ ].
• Test code:
Unique number for each test Refer to the Tests Overview
(page 111) for the test code.
• Test number:
Unique number for each test Same number as for selecting
tests.
Note: • Back up user data before proceeding with the
test program. (Refer to “SAVING and LOADING
A FILE” on page 165)
B. Test entry
• MANUAL MODE:
Turn on the power while simultaneously pressing the
[REMOTE] + [
S
] (REC) buttons until the “MOTIF XS” is
displayed on the screen and release the buttons.
The following screen will appear and test mode will be
selected.

b.b.bb..······: Kernel Version
c.cc.c: Contents Version

If you press the [EXIT] button when the screen is shown, “T25
EXIT” will be displayed.
• MIDI MODE:
After turning on the power to the unit with MANUAL MODE,
wait for several seconds until test program screen appears
and then,
"
send MIDI code F0 43 10 18 5A 00 F7 and the
following screen will appear.
[REMOTE]
[INC/YES]
[DEC/NO]
[REC] [ENTER]
[STOP] [EXIT]

MOTIF XS Test Program
This screen indicates that the unit is ready for MIDI test code.
If you press the [EXIT] button when the screen is shown, “T25
EXIT” will be displayed.
After entering each test item, follow descriptions on the
screen to proceed test.
* However, test entry for “T00-1 MAC Address Read/
Write” uses another way instead of the above way.
