C. How to carry out tests
• MANUAL MODE:
The following screen will appear on entering test program.
Use the [DEC/NO] or [INC/YES] button to select a test
number.
Press the [ENTER] button to execute the test number
currently selected.
Press the [EXIT] button to perform “T25 EXIT”.
• MIDI MODE:
Send ==> A0 “test code” 00 to execute the test.
If a nonexistent test code is sent, it will be ignored.
D. How to carry out tests when judged as
NG
If judgment is NG for each of the following test, operate as
shown to proceed to
MANUAL MODE: Condition waiting for test number
MIDI MODE: Condition waiting for test code
then, you can repeat the test or proceed to another test.
• MANUAL MODE:
Press the [EXIT] button to select a condition waiting for test
number.
However, [EXIT] button does not work for “T03 Panel
Switch, LED”.
• MIDI MODE:
Send A0 “test code” 00 to execute a desired test. (You can
exit from the test item for which NG is judged.)
E. Indication of A/D value
A/D value shown with the test program is a product of merely
downshifting scanned A/D value into 7 bit and software fi lter is
not applied.
F. Hidden mode (Updater)
How to enter:
Turn on the power while simultaneously pressing the
[

]+[UTILITY] buttons until the “MOTIF XS” is displayed
on the screen and release the buttons.

* This operation is not necessary in usual cases.
However, if you replaced the Flash ROM (IC515) in
the DM circuit board, be sure to execute this test to
write MAC Address. (It the DM circuit board is re-
placed, it is not necessary to perform this test.)
[Preparations]
Connect the [USB TO HOST] connector of the MOTIF XS and
the PC with a USB cable (A-B Type).

You must install the USB-MIDI driver to connect the PC
and MOTIF XS. Download the USB-MIDI driver from the

Install the MAC Address writing tool to the PC in advance.
(Use MACBAR as the tool.)
