[How to quit test]
When the judgment is shown and output, the test will be
completed and item selection condition will be selected.

Whole RAM data will be stored.
In other words, the procedures that data are saved just before
the verifying check to be restored just after the check will be

TEST
MOTIF XS Test Program
[Test Contents]
Tests mLAN I/F signal.
Connect an optional mLAN board (mLAN16E2) to check
XS6 or XS7. Audio/ MIDI signal sent by the unit is returned
(Echo Back) by the DICEII (IC106) on the MLAN circuit
board and the returned signal is checked by the unit.
• Speci c data are sent and it is checked if the same data can
be received within speci ed period as MIDI signal check.
Audio signal is produced by the SWP51 (Slave side
(DM: IC011)), and is looped back by the MLAN circuit
board (optional mLAN16E2 in case of XS6, XS7). The
audio data is received by the SWP51 (Slave side (DM:
IC011)), routed through the SWP51 (Master side (DM:
IC010)) and is output from the DAC to ANALOG OUT.
(Data is output from the [DIGITAL OUT] as well)
q
MLAN circuit board (or mLAN16E2) connection test:
Detects if the MLAN circuit board or
mLAN16E2 is connected or not.
w
MIDI test: The test pattern (90 40 7F) is transferred
from the unit and it is checked if the
Echo Back data is normal.
e
Audio test: Tests 3 systems of audio inputs (6ch)
and 8 systems of outputs (16ch).
In particular, fullscale 1 KHz sine
wave is output for all the channels of
8 audio system outputs of the unit,
audio signals changed by every 6ch by
the DICEII chip (IC106) and returned
and Echo Backed normally to the
unit, and DA converted to be output
to the STEREO OUT (Audio channel
is changed with switches or test
command). Check the output audibly.
r
MUTE test: Check that sine wave is muted when
the MUTE is ON and that sine wave
is output when the MUTE is OFF.
t
SRC test: The SRC (Sampling Rate Converter)
is bypassed from the unit.
After changing BYPASS ON to BYPASS
OFF, check that OK is displayed.
y
1394 port test: Connect hubs to the IEEE1394 ports
1 and 2 and check if the 2 hubs can be
detected.
* Two IEEE1394 repeater hubs are necessary, but one
of the hub can be replaced with a Personal Com-
puter for testing.
In case of using a PC, use the PC compatible with
IEEE1394 (S400). If a message appears on the PC
when it is connected with the MOTIF XS, cancel the
message to proceed with the test.
