4. Open the front door and place the Clinitrol™ Reference Solution
ampule adapter into the position of the primary carousel indicated
on
the message screen. Make sure that the barcode label on the
adapter is positioned so that it can be seen in the tube holder slot
(Figure 9).
5. Place an open ampule of Clinitrol™ Reference Solution in the
adapter.
6. Close the front door.
7. Press the Ready button on the message screen.
8. If the test is completed successfully and the osmolality result is
within acceptable limits, the A
2
O is operating properly and does not
require recalibration.
9. If the test is completed successfully and the osmolality result
exceeds the acceptable limits, recalibrate the A
2
O using the proce-
dure in Chapter 4.
10. If the test is not completed successfully and an error message
appears, refer to Chapter 6 for troubleshooting assistance.
Step 11 — Set date and time
If necessary, use the instructions found in Chapter 2 of this User’s
Guide to change the date and time settings.
Step 12 — Set language preference
The A
2
O can be operated in multiple languages. Your instrument will
initially be set for English. If you prefer to operate the instrument in one
of the other languages, you should change the language setting as
described in Chapter 5.
