matched with the sample tubes from which they were drawn. Calibration
of the A
2
O is also performed unattended. A STAT test feature is also
provided, which allows you to temporarily interrupt the measurement of
a batch of sample tubes so that samples from another tube may be mea-
sured.
The A
2
O stores all test results internally. The results are retained in
memory when the A
2
O is powered down. Additionally, the A
2
O auto-
matically displays and prints test results on a display screen and printer
tape, respectively. Further, you may access and export (to CSV files)
previous results using the A
2
O’s touchscreen. If you wish to determine
whether or not measured results have drifted over time, you may access
the A
2
O’s internal quality control graphs. Via the A
2
O’s Ethernet port,
the A
2
O provides industry-standard support for interfacing with a LIS
system. Lastly, the A
2
O supports password protection to control access
to the A
2
O’s functions.
Control and reference tubes can be included in a batch of samples. The
A
2
O can be set up to measure multiple replicates of samples, controls,
and references. The A
2
O allows you to easily design, name, save, and
access various test protocols.
The A
2
O can be configured to use only those features which are impor-
tant to you. For example, if you do not use barcodes, then barcode read-
ing can be disabled; if you do not need passwords, then the use of pass-
words can be disabled. Using the A
2
O can be as simple as loading one
or more sample tubes, loading clean sample cups, pressing the Start but-
ton, and reading the measurement results.
