2. Place the tube containing the sample to be tested into the primary
carousel.
3. Select the more appropriate calibrated range for performing the test
(refer to Chapter 5). If the expected freezing point is in the 2000-
4000 mOsm range, the Full range should be selected.

Making a STAT sample measurement
1.
Press the STAT button on the Main screen (Figure 13).

O rotates the primary carousel to bring one of its tube hold-
ers to the front of the osmometer. You will then be prompted to put
the sample tube into the selected tube holder. Put the tube into the
carousel and press the Ready button.
3 If there are no clean sample tubes in the osmometer turntable, the

2
O displays a message asking you to reload the turntable. If this
message is displayed, reload the turntable and then press the Ready
button.
4 The A
2
O then rotates the primary carousel to a position that per-
mits it to sense whether the sample tube is in the correct position. If
the A
2
O is configured to read barcodes from sample tubes, then it
will read the barcode at this time.
5 If the A
2
O does not detect the primary tube in the correct tube hold-
er, it returns to Step 2.
6 If the A
2
O is configured to read barcodes, but it is unable to read
the barcode from the primary tube, then it prompts you to enter a
barcode manually .
