Printing Test Results
Appendix D
The A
2
O can print test results to its internal printer
1
, and to an external
printer that has a serial interface. The external printer can be either a
paper-tape printer or a page printer.
2
The A
2
O assumes that the size of
the paper in the external page printer is either 8-1/2 x 11 inches, or A4.
The A
2
O can be configured to print to just the internal printer, just the
external printer, to both printers at the same time, or to neither of the
printers.
When a test is completed, the A
2
O immediately writes its result to the
internal printer (if it is enabled), and to the external printer (if it is a
paper-tape printer and is enabled).
If the external printer is a page printer and is enabled, then the A
2
O
accumulates test results during the performance of a batch test, and
prints all of the results for the batch test when the batch test ends. When
results have been accumulated but not printed out yet, a button appears
near the bottom of the screen on the A
2
O GUI, which you can press to
print out all of the results for the batch test that have been accumulated
so far.
3
How to Connect an External Printer to the A
2
O
To connect an external paper-tape printer to the A
2
O, plug the printer
into one of the A
2
O’s USB ports.
1
The “internal printer” is a paper-tape printer, which is built into the A
2
O.
2
Paper-tape printers print one line at a time. A “page printer” is a printer that prints an
entire sheet of paper at a time, such as typical ink jet and laser printers do.
3
Pressing this button does not cause the test results, which are printed, to be discarded.
All of the results for the batch test will still be printed out at the end of the batch test.
