Repeatability Tips
1. Sample tube cleanliness is extremely important for repeatability.
Use clean sample tubes with each test.
2. Treat all samples in the same manner before each test. Treat stan-
dards and reference solutions in the same manner as the unknown
samples.
3. To avoid contamination and evaporation, keep each sample cov-
ered prior to placing it into the

O.
4. For replicates, use another sample from the same primary tube.
5. The first result in any given series of tests may differ slightly due
to temperature conditioning or residual contamination of the
probe. Subsequent readings on aliquots of the same sample should
group within the specifications of Appendix B.
6. If an occasional sample produces irregular results, discard obvi-
ously discrepant readings as long as the instrument has been pro-
ducing accurate, repeatable results. Test another aliquot of the
same sample.
7. If an occasional sample of a calibration standard, reference stan-
dard, or control solution produces irregular results, test another
sample of the same formulation obtained from a newly opened
container.
8. Do not reuse plastic sample tubes or probe wiper rings. Discard
after each use.
