block probe resistances are changed, or other servicing has been per-
formed.
Prior to initiating a calibration sequence, you should ensure that the fol-
lowing actions are completed:
Clean sample tubes are loaded into the osmometer turntable.
A wiper ring and wiper ring cover have been installed on the
osmometer turntable.
The waste bottle is empty, or contains sufficient capacity to accept
the cleaning fluid from the test run.
There is sufficient system fluid to operate the system.
Adapters to hold the ampules used for calibration have been placed in
the primary carousel. Ampules of the required calibration standards
have been opened and placed into the adapters.
CAUTION To ensure proper liquid level detection when testing sam-
ples contained in ampules, use a lint-free cloth or swab to
carefully remove any liquid film present at the ampule
opening.
Barcode labels on the calibration adapters have been positioned so
that they face outward and are visible in the tube holder slots.
The front door is closed.
To calibrate the product follow the steps below:
1. Using the touchscreen or keypad, navigate to the Main, Menu,
Calibrate screen (Figure 11).
2. Select the calibration range (Low or Full) and press the Perform but-
ton.
3. The instrument prompts you to insert the appropriate calibrators in
the appropriate positions. Insert the vial or ampule adapters for the
calibration standards into the locations in the primary carousel. Insert
the calibration standards into the adapters. Ensure that all bar-codes
are visible in the slots in the primary carousel or in the adapter.
