6.28 Parking the Machine

1. Park the machine on a level surface with the lift arm completely low-
ered.
2. If the machine is parked on a slope, position the front of the machine
downhill. If possible, tilt the attachment (such as a bucket) down so that
it digs into the ground.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Allow the engine to cool down at low idle for 5 minutes without any
load.
5. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position to stop the engine.
6. Step off the operator platform.
7. Chock the .
8. Make sure the parking brake pins are engaged (at least one).
