7.12 Draining and Cleaning the Water Separator
Environment
Use a suitable container to collect, store, and dispose of drained fluids and
lubricants in accordance with current environmental protection regulations.
When
• Every 10 hours or daily—check
• Every 50 hours—drain
• Every 500 hours—clean
Requirements
• Machine shut down
• Container of sufficient volume to collect drained fluid
• Filter wrench

Removing the water separator
The water separator(1) is located in the engine compartment.
1. Raise the lift arm and secure the lift arm support device. For further in-
formation, see Lift Arm Support Device on page 65.

2. Remove the side panel(2) next to the water separator.
3. Place a container beneath the water separator.
4. Clean the area of the filter cartridge and housing.
