Chapter 3 Methods and Mappings 77
USG-CUS-059 Rev05MassARRAY® Nanodispenser RS1000 v2.1 User Guide
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
2. Under Type, select Tuning or Analyte. Designating some pads as tuning pads allows
the custom mapping to be used in a dispensing run that has the auto tuning feature
enabled. (The map may also be used when auto tuning is not enabled.) It is
recommend that all custom mappings include some tuning pads. Tuning pads will be
indicated by a "T" on the SpectroCHIP Array diagram (see Figure 3.28).
3. Tap the well in the microplate diagram that will receive pin A1 (Figure 3.27).
Since the spacing of the pins in the 24-pin array matches the spacing of the wells on
a 384-well microtiter plate, the 24-pin array "footprint" is a 6 x 4 contiguous group of
wells.
The selected well sets the location of the lower left corner of the pin array footprint (6
x 4 grid).
NOTE
The color for each block of wells is automatically assigned. You can cycle through different colors
by tapping the anchor” well (the lower-left well in the 6 x 4 block) in the plate diagram.
4. Tap the pad in the SpectroCHIP Array diagram that will receive pin A1.
The selected pad sets the location of the lower left corner of the pin array footprint (6
x 4 grid). The remaining pads in the pin array footprint are automatically selected
(Figure 3.28).
The pins are spaced so that they land on every fourth pad. The 6 x 4 pin array footprint
is spread out across every fourth pad. The same color is used in the plate and
SpectroCHIP Array.
Figure 3.27 Select the Plate Well to Receive Pin A1
Well A1 was selected in this
example. This sets the
location of the 6 x 4 pin array
footprint.
Pin A1 will aspirate from well
A1. The contiguous wells in a
6 x 4 grid are automatically
selected and the remaining
pins will aspirate from these
wells.
