8.8 Boundary, ditch and side spreading
1. Boundary spreading in accordance with
fertiliser ordinance (Fig. 58):
Along the field boundary there is a road, a field
path or another person's lot.
Fertiliser is not permitted to fall beyond the
boundaries in accordance with the fertiliser ordi-
nance.
2. Ditch spreading in accordance with ferti-
liser ordinance (Fig. 59):
There is body of water or a ditch along the field
boundary.
The fertiliser ordinance specifies the following:
• No fertiliser must be spread within one me-
tre of the boundary
(with use of boundary spreading devices).
• No fertiliser must be spread within three
metres of the boundary
(without use of boundary spreading devic-
es).
• Erosion and wash-away (e.g. in surface
waters) must be prevented.

Boundary spreading and ditch spreading:
To prevent over-fertilising in the inside of the field, the spread rate at
the boundary must be reduced. There is a slight under-fertilising in
front of the field boundary.

Hydraulic or EasySet shutter control:
Reduce the shutter position on the boundary side by the
number of increments given in the setting chart.

or ISOBUS:
The spread rate is reduced automatically.
Set the rate reduction according to the setting chart on the
control terminal / control computer beforehand
3. Side spreading (Fig. 60):
The boundary is delineated by an area in agricul-
tural use. It is acceptable for a small amount of
fertiliser to be thrown across the field boundary.
The fertiliser distribution in towards the centre of
the field is still close to the nominal quantity. A
small amount of fertiliser is thrown across the
field boundary.
